FAITH IS SPELLED R-I-S-K! “It’s like jumping off he diving board and trusting God to fill the pool before you land.” “When we pray, we are trusting God to hear, to respond. Every time we step out and ask God to heal, we are taking a risk and exercising faith. Faith is a commitment to move in a direction toward God. It is not being certain of the outcome” (Glenn Schroder)
So we continue to move out and take risks for Jesus. Greeting neighbors and offering to pray with people daily is also taking risks. Praying for those in the hospital or even approaching people at church is also taking risks. I want to keep doing this all my days and see what God can do!
TEACH THE BIBLE, NOT YOUR EXPERIENCE. God has given us authority to pray for the sick and even raise the dead. Not many of us have had that experience but we need to teach what it says in the Bible. Many passages are hard for us to believe sometimes and we haven’t had the experience but we need to keep teaching all that is in the Word of God. Till every tribe and nation come to know Him. We will keep teaching the Bible and let our experiences follow what we read. Give us the faith to keep going and follow our legacy like in Hebrews 11.
PEOPLE WILL GO TO CHURCH FOR A LOT OF REASONS, BUT THEY’LL ONLY STAY FOR ONE–RELATIONSHIP! (HEBREWS 10:24-25)” And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another–and all the more was you see the Day approaching!”
“Relationship is a human need.” “Even healing happens in the context of relationship.” Small groups are so important in the church – people’s needs are met and valued. “Every person has a vital contribution to make.” “Not only do we have an inherent need to belong, but we also need to make a valuable contribution–that is, to be needed. … As we learn to confidently yet humbly minister, our identity in Christ is formed and we move toward wholeness.” (Glenn Schroder).
Help us to continually help people get into groups so that they can grow mature in every way.
I thank God for this foundational principle we learned in the early days of the Vineyard.
Let us help one another to grow in our faith more and more!
