The whole Bible basically is God’s story of Him calling a people unto Himself. He speaks to people whether they know Him or not. He constantly gives people second chances to turn to Him. God’s story is so amazing, full of twists and turns, healing, miracles, and heartbreak.
Let’s pray that God will lead us to people who are looking for Him. People looking for purpose in their lives. People who are waiting to hear God’s voice for them specifically in their situation.
Ephesians 2:10, we read: “We are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
God really does have a good plan for us and He is able to fulfill that plan. Sometimes He speaks to unlikely people. People running away from Him like Jonah. He speaks to teenagers like Mary and children like Samuel. He even speaks to criminals like Saul. Nobody is too far from His reach.
Let’s look at people differently and see God’s purpose in their lives. The image of God is in each person and God wants to call them out to be part of His family. It doesn’t matter where they came from, what they look like, or where they are going.
Let’s go and do what God tells us to do today.
We have a place here in Chicago called Little India on Devon Street. Every Friday night, there is a group of young people who show up on a busy corner, and talk to people, serve free chai,
and listen to people’s stories. I can’t wait to be part of it again this summer. Chicago is such a diverse place. People are here from all over the world. It can be a little overwhelming trying to decide where to go to love people in a practical way and point them to God. But tonight, I think we will go to Little India since we miss being in India so much.
So find some time to get away by yourself, pray to God and ask Him where He wants you to be tonight or this weekend. Let’s go and be part of someone else’s story to help them become part of God’s family.
Who can you share this with today?
