The fragrance of Christ

14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere. 15 For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. 16 To the one we are an aroma that brings death; to the other, an aroma that brings life. And who is equal to such a task? 17 Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, as those sent from God. 2 Corinthians 2:14-17 NIV

What does this mean for us today?

  1. What do we learn about God from this passage?
  2. What do we learn about people?
  3. How should we respond?
  4. Who can we share this with?

We live in a building with 40 units in Uptown Chicago. Are we spreading the aroma of Christ throughout the building to the neighbors we meet?

What more can we do to spread this aroma?

Invite people over for a meal or tea?

Meet people on the rooftop?

Do random acts of kindness as we go about our normal daily lives?

What is God calling us to do?

Help us be sincerity to people about you Jesus.

What do you think?

How can we apply these verses to our lives?
