WHY DO WE CONCERN OURSELVES WITH TRYING TO REACH THE UNREACHED?

For me, I have to go back to my time at Biola College. in the 1970s. The professors then believed we were living in the last days and that we could possibly be alive at the return of Jesus on earth. In fact, they believed that He could return within ten years.

We heard this kind of thing for four years while studying the Bible really for the first time in our lives as teenagers. Our class on the book of Acts was taught by a former missionary who felt his mission on earth was to convince as many of us as he could to go the unreached mission field. Rick and I came home from that class crying every week.

By the time we graduated in 1978, we were convinced God had called us to India to reach the unreached. We were also involved in a youth group that exploded and we literally saw hundreds of high school kids come to know the Lord during those years in Southern California.

So, this is at the basis of why we feel compelled to train disciple makers to go to the lost and reach unreached villages and communities in India and Sri Lanka.

Hebrews 9:27-28 And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.

Romans 10: 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

So from 1978 on, we have felt like we must go to reach the unreached with the message of the Gospel. This is our motivation for multiplying disciple makers in a simple way from house to house so that it cannot be stopped.

When you hear the news, it seems like we could be closer to the last days, wars, drastic weather, diseases, etc. so, let’s be ready!
