You formed my innermost being, shaping my delicate inside
and my intricate outside,
and wove them all together in my mother’s womb.
14 I thank you, God, for making me so mysteriously complex!
Everything you do is marvelously breathtaking.
It simply amazes me to think about it!
How thoroughly you know me, Lord!
15 You even formed every bone in my body
when you created me in the secret place,
carefully, skillfully shaping me from nothing to something.
16 You saw who you created me to be before I became me
Before I’d ever seen the light of day,
the number of days you planned for me
were already recorded in your book.
Psalm 139:13-16 The Passion Translation
- What do we learn about God in this passage?
2. What do we learn about people in this passage?
3. What stands out to you?
4. How should we respond to this passage?
This week I heard a remarkable story about Rina in Chandigarh. She grew up in a Hindu family. Even as a child, she did not like the puja (worship) the family made to idols in the home. She kept asking her mom, “Why am I here?”
Some people came to visit from a Vineyard church in Dehradun to pray for her mom who was sick.
They shared about Jesus praying for sick people.
However, her mom passed away before Rina knew Jesus. But she kept wrestling with that question, “Why am I here?” She didn’t want to live any longer but God protected her life.
One day she was invited to a friend’s house to watch the movie, Passion of the Christ. That’s when she started believing in Jesus. She has been walking with Jesus ever since.
She moved to Chandigarh to help plant a new church with her sister and brother in law about four years ago. She has naturally befriended many people who don’t know Jesus in her new neighborhood and is even meeting some household maids in a nearby park to tell them stories about Jesus. She also tutors children and tells them stories about Jesus. She lets her light shine all around.
She told me that when she read Psalm 139, she felt like God was answering all her questions from her childhood! She has been a student in our Discipleship Making classes online during this pandemic time. and continues to share God’s love and make disciples who make disciples. She is encouraging the maids she met at the park to share with their friends and they are doing it!
Hope this story encourages you as you pray for people who don’t know Jesus! God has a plan for each one of us!
Wow! So beautiful! I love her story❤️🙏🏼
