This is such a diverse city and depending which direction we walk, we encounter people from all walks of life! If we walk to our daughter’s house, it’s mainly on a beautiful street with gorgeous gardens. Mainly neighbors walking their dogs or families with kids.
In a couple other directions, we see people from all over the world literally and some local homeless people or even some mental patients. Rick has been getting to know some of the homeless people and occasionally takes them out to lunch. One guy actually prophesies over people as they walk by.
So Rick has learned the names of many of the homeless in our area and is kind to them. Sometimes he takes one of them out to lunch and he prays for them.
I have been getting to know a girl from Japan who works in a laundromat. She is very open to Jesus and doesn’t know much about Him.
I try to pray for people as I go and make His light shine.
Let’s pray for each other as we do prayer walks in our neighborhoods to have open doors to share with people about Jesus.
Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.
Proverbs 19:17 ESV
- What do we learn about God?
- What do we learn about people?
- What stands out to you?
- What should you do to obey this passage this week?
How should we treat homeless people?
