I was taking a walk in my friends neighborhood this week and met Ganesh who has a beautiful garden in his front yard. His house is up for sale and I started a conversation with him. I was wearing a kurta from India so it was easy to talk about India
The next day I saw an older Indian lady and we began to walk together. We ended up walking to her house and it was the same house where I met Ganesh. Her name is Lakshmi. She invited me over for chai and felt comfortable with me since I was wearing a kurta.
She got mint from the garden and made wonderful chai and dosa. She also had chutney and some namkeen. We had a wonderful chat and I learned a lot
They have lived in the United States for 25 years. They have a cleaning lady from Brazil who has prayed for them. They seemed pretty open to talking about spiritual things as well as hospitality and cooking!
It was so easy to begin a friendship and I want to go back again and tell them a story about Jesus!
I told them I would pray for someone to buy their house. I told them I taught English in India for ten years and helped some churches and the poor.
I can’t wait to go back again
Even in Chicago we met a neighbor from Pakistan and invited him to have dinner with us on the rooftop. He came and said he had never had dinner up there with a neighbor and he had lived in that building for 17 years
So I encourage you to make friends with foreigners and tell them stories about Jesus
Let’s plant more seeds!
Colossians 4:5
Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity.
I love this! And you. And Jesus and how He works!

Love this post! God is so good—we just need to cooperate with what he’s already doing!
