Deuteronomy 6:6-7 “These words I am commanding you today must be kept in mind, 7 and you must teach them to your children and speak of them as you sit in your house, as you walk along the road, as you lie down, and as you get up.”
Considering this passage,
- What do we learn about God?
- What do we learn about people?
- What stands out to you to do differently?
- Who can you share this with this week?
I love this Mother Teresa quote above and it really helps me a lot as my children are now grown and have children of their own.
It brings hope and encouragement and reminds us to let our children be different! Their story is not over yet.
God is working in their lives and He will finish the work He has begun in them.
Let’s pray together for our children and their children.
This even goes for our spiritual children and those we are influencing in their spiritual lives.
I too love Mother Theresa, but I have to admit, this quote hurt, considering all we’re going through with our daughter. As you know, she has fully embraced the trans ideology and has not only started testosterone, but told us she’s scheduling top surgery this January. While we’re obviously devastated, we know she belongs to the Lord, so we’re praying she will hear his voice and have an encounter with him that will truly change her heart and mind. So everyone who reads this, please pray for her. Her name is Laurel. Thank you.

Just to clarify, I didn’t mean that anything presented here was hurtful. We all know what it’s like, when our children are on a path that we know will bring harm to them, but there’s almost nothing we can do or say that can make them change. We live with this type of hurt every day with our daughter, and it’s always very close to the surface. But none of our hurts go unnoticed by the Lord. I know he will use every pain we feel, and every prayer we pray to accomplish his will in our daughter’s life. Anyway, please don’t feel bad about this blog. We know it was not meant to cause her to anyone, only good.

Wow. Thank you, Rick and Ellen. These thoughts and comments are wonderful. Yes. God is still in control. The most important thing I’ve learned is to cling to Jesus. Our complete answers will come when we finally meet him face to face. I will pray for Laurel. May the love of Jesus pursue her. Blessings.
