LET’S THINK ABOUT VALENTINE’S DAY

SO LET’S THINK ABOUT VALENTINE’S DAY 2024!

What would Jesus do? Let’s try to think beyond our family and friends to have to have a lasting impact on the community around us or at least on someone who would be surprised that we care about them! Thinking about your neighbors, who would be surprised if you did something for them on Valentine’s Day? What if you invited someone for tea, snacks or dinner? What if you just took a surprise snack over to a neighbor who you know is alone?

When think about your neighbors, who might be really sad on Valentine’s Day? Has anyone lost a loved one recently? Let God give you an idea that’s from Him. He is very creative and might tell you something to do that you have never thought of before! Then try it!

Sometimes we say faith is spelled “R-i-s-k”. or how about “T-r-y!”

What if He opens a door for you with a neighbor that has not been opened before?

Keep your eyes and ears open these next few weeks and see what He can do through you.

The Golden Rule Jesus gave us—“Do to others what you would have them do to you” (Matthew 7:12)—is another way of saying this command to love our neighbor as ourselves. Loving others well depends at least partly on our capacity to love ourselves.

How does Jesus define neighbor?
In response to the lawyer’s second question and his attempt to redefine who qualifies as his neighbor, Jesus tells the parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:29–37). Jesus makes it clear in this parable that our neighbor is anyone around us, regardless of their ethnic, religious, or socio-economic status.

What is Galatians 5 14?
ESV For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” NIV For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself
