MATTHEW 12:46-50
46 While Jesus was still talking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to him. 47 Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you.”
48 He replied to him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” 49 Pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers. 50 For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”
- What do we learn about God from this passage?
- What do we learn about people?
- How should we respond?
- Who could we share this with?
We studied this passage yesterday, on Father’s Day and then we prayed for each other about grief we have from one relationship in our family.
It was a powerful time together. It’s amazing to realize that Jesus’ family was not perfect, and nobody’s is.
Yet, he calls us his family. It brings so much healing to be part of the family of God. He accepts us into His family no matter where we came from. What a relief to be part of His family no matter how our family treats us.
