LET’S BE THANKFUL TODAY AND ALWAYS

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Colossians 3:15-17

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

In the United States, November is normally the month of being thankful. It seems we have gotten distracted from this because of the election this week. I want to encourage all of us to remember that we have much to be thankful for.

God is still on the throne and He is doing His work all over the world even during this pandemic and election time. Nothing can stop Him. He is working in us, through us and around us all the time.

I want to refocus us on the good things that God is doing and remind us to be thankful today.

Let His peace rule in your heart today, as we are called to peace. Let His message dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another. Let’s do everything in His name giving thanks for all He has done.

  1. What do we learn about God in these passages?
  2. What do we learn about people?
  3. What does God want us to focus on today?
  4. Who can we share this with to encourage them?

Hope you are all having a good week. Let’s go outside and find things God made that we can thank Him for today. Let’s pray for one another. Let’s dwell on Him today and His goodness.

He is helping us make disciples, healing us of diseases, helping people start new schools and churches, sending people out to help the poor, empowering women to reach their neighbors and much more.

His goodness is running after us!
