God has been showing me so much lately about how to pray for loved ones.
Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! 5 This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath[a] enter you, and you will come to life. 6 I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord. Ezekiel 37:4-6 NIV
When we were in Bangalore ten years ago, I heard Lauren Daigle’s song about Dry Bones and it really touched me.
God can breathe life into anyone, no matter how small their faith is or if there is any at all.
3 As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. 4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?” Acts 9:3-4 NIV
Then I started using this passage that God would reveal Himself and get the attention of my loved ones.
I also started using this passage while living in India to pray for my loved ones.
Recently, I have been touched by Maverick City Music and I was listening to a worship set led by Chandler Moore.
Between songs, he started praying for people randomly and started telling people to come out of the cave of intimidation like David was in.
3 He came to the sheep pens along the way; a cave was there, and Saul went in to relieve himself. David and his men were far back in the cave. 4 The men said, “This is the day the Lord spoke of when he said to you, ‘I will give your enemy into your hands for you to deal with as you wish.’” Then David crept up unnoticed and cut off a corner of Saul’s robe. I Samuel 24:3-4 NIV
This word also touched me and gave me hope in praying for my loved ones. God can call people out of the cave they are in, to face their fears or intimidation and God will take care of them.
The other day, we saw a movie about the story of Hosea and how God called him to marry Gomer who was a prostitute and then she committed adultery. I was again moved and realized that God’s heart is broken in the same way as someone who has experienced their partner committing adultery. He longs for us to return to Him no matter what we have done and yet he does weep.
2 When the Lord began to speak through Hosea, the Lord said to him, “Go, marry a promiscuous woman and have children with her, for like an adulterous wife this land is guilty of unfaithfulness to the Lord.” Hosea 1:2 NIV
Even if we are unfaithful to the Lord, He remains faithful to us! This is a powerful love for us and another good way to pray for our loved ones. That they will return to Him who is always faithful.
Of course, I always love to read the three stories in Luke 15 about the lost sheep, the lost coins and the lost son.
The Father is so happy even when one person returns to Him. He loves to throw parties to celebrate.
7 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent. Luke 15:7 NIV
So, let us go and pray for our loved ones. God is able to seek and find anyone
Amen🙏🏽

Thanks for this. It definitely came at a time where things are really rough with Laurel. She’s pretty much shut herself off from us, most especially me, and is rejecting anything to do with who God made her to be. Not only that, I received a word from someone the other day that just said, “I am going to come to you not many days from now…” Obviously, I’ve been praying for discernment to know what that means. I’ll admit, it’s somewhat unnerving, especially considering one of the prayers I pray regarding Laurel is a whatever it takes prayer. Kind of a scary prayer to pray. What if that means something bad has to happen to me or Rhonda? Do I really mean it? Would appreciate your prayers and also any input/wisdom you might want to share.
Also last night was had a dream I believe was from the Lord. In it, I found an unhatched egg that had been abandoned by its mother. I took it in and cared for it as best I could. Finally it seemed it was going to hatch and I saw the beak poking through. I heard birds outside and quickly took it out and laid it down near a tree where they were. I walked away but when I turned back there were different animals there who had obviously eaten the baby bird. In waking up, I knew this was symbolic of Laurel. I know the Lord has her and is pursuing her, but I’m just so fearful she’s going to be eaten up because of the path she’s on. Maybe that’s why this summer I’ve seen an unusually high number of dead birds, that the Lord is telling me He is aware of her and has her. It’s just so difficult feeling so rejected. Again, would appreciate your prayers. Love you guys.
