All disciples of Jesus are commanded to proclaim the Kingdom and also to heal the sick & to raise the dead (Lk 10). In movements that are taking place on every continent today, followers of Jesus boldly proclaim His Word, and the Lord confirms it with signs and wonders (Mk 16:20).
20 Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.
• Ask for followers of Jesus in unreached places to be bold to pray for God’s Kingdom (including the releasing of signs and wonders) to come to the places where they go. Signs and wonders can help people believe in Him (Deut 4:34-35).
34 Has any god ever tried to take for himself one nation out of another nation, by testings, by signs and wonders, by war, by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, or by great and awesome deeds, like all the things the Lord your God did for you in Egypt before your very eyes?
35 You were shown these things so that you might know that the Lord is God; besides him there is no other.
• Pray for His children to be bold enough to ask for the impossible. So that many will believe (Mt 4:23-24; 6:10;10:7-10; 12:28). (Robin Smith)
23 Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people. 24 News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed; and he healed them.
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven. (Mt 6:10)
Matthew 10:7-10:
7 As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ 8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy,[a] drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.
9 “Do not get any gold or silver or copper to take with you in your belts— 10 no bag for the journey or extra shirt or sandals or a staff, for the worker is worth his keep.
Matthew 12:28:
28 But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.
We have heard many stories lately of people going to pray for the sick and seeing healing happen especially when they go out to new places. People are open for prayer and desperate for healing. Let’s go out and try to see if we can pray for people that need healing.
Even over the phone, people have been healed recently. Nothing is impossible with God.
I remember praying for my neighbor in Georgia several times and she got healed immediately before she came to know Jesus. These experiences really helped her to believe in Jesus. A burn on her leg, a fever and a broken hip. She has been praying for people ever since.
